Put something in your way

Need to remember something in the morning? Put an object somewhere wrong tonight. Shoe on the kitchen table.

no timeEvidence: worth trying

The brain notices what's out of place. A shoe on the table stops you, and the stop triggers the question "why is that there", which triggers the memory. A note on the fridge doesn't stop you, because it's always there.

Old trick, some research on cue-based reminders behind it, none on the shoe specifically. Evidence: worth trying
